How much do I need to deposit?
We require a 20% deposit upon signing a contract to secure your date. This deposit is non-refundable.
When is the remainder of my balance due?
Your remaining balance is due on or before your wedding day.
Do you shoot with an assistant?
We are a husband and wife photographer team giving you coverage by two professional photographers at all times. This frees me up to focus on shooting and looking for special moments while ensuring that, between the two of us, we don’t miss the important ones.
Do you travel?
We love to travel and will generally arrive at least the day before the event to help ensure that unexpected travel delays do not make us late or miss your big day. Let us know where you are and we’ll figure out the best way to get us out to you.
When will I get to see my photos?
Processing time for wedding photos is about 6-8 weeks simply because we take so many photos! We promise it will be worth the wait. As I edit, I'll post sneek peeks for you to see from time to time. (;
Why is the deposit non-refundable?
The deposit is non-refundable because as soon as you book your date we have already begun planning for your wedding. The deposit covers not only the time spent in communicating, but also any other services provided in preparation for your wedding whether it be renting equipment, purchasing packaging for your finished products, or the hours of time we spend "behind the scenes" planning for your big day. Most importantly, your deposit secures your date, thereby making it unavailable to other customers. Most photographers that shoot weddings work strictly in photography as their full-time income - they count on the service they are committing to.
What extra fees do you charge for destination weddings?
The only extra fees that we require for destination weddings is, of course, travel expenses and over night stay.
Can I share photos with you that I find online for inspiration?
Of course! In fact, I strongly encourage that you do! This helps me get a great idea of what you like and what your style is. Some clients have even added me to a shared pinterest board to show me photos they've found that they love.
Will you be the one photographing my wedding?
I photograph each wedding personally. Some larger studios hire photographers with little to no experience in an effort to keep their prices down. While their portfolio might look great you do not have the guarantee that you will receive the level of service and quality images that you should expect. It is important that the person you talk to is going to be the photographer at your wedding. A large percentage of the time the images you are shown were shot by a photographer who is no longer there.
What if something happens to you and you cannot make it to my wedding?
It never happened that I was not able to photograph a wedding. However, life is unpredictable and If something tragic were to happen, I have a network of professional photographers whom I can contact to cover your event.
Do you have backup equipment that you bring with you?
Of course! I have the best equipment in the industry and I always have back up cameras, lights, and different lenses for close-ups, wide angles, zoom, etc with me.
Do you backup the images you take at my wedding?
Absolutely! Even before I start editing your photos I create multiple backups. Once the editing process is complete and the photos are online, I make more copies of the final proofed images in high-resolution JPG format. Once I deliver your images, they are your responsibilities and I am no longer responsible for them. I suggest making several copies and keeping one of them at someone else’s house just in case.
How many photos will I get on my DVD and do you include every photo you take?
I have a high image quality standard that the images need to meet in order for them to make it within your final gallery. I usually take anywhere between 900 – 3000 photographs depending on the length of a wedding and then narrow them down to 1/3 of that during the editing process. Often times, I take as many pictures of the same pose as I need to get the perfect shot. That’s the beauty of digital photography! Therefore, I do not include the duplicate photos, blinks, blurs, and wrong exposure. This makes it easier for you to pick your favorite images for the album and I assure you that there is nothing you would miss!
Why would I order prints from you if I receive a disc of high res images?
Even though you receive your images on a DVD with the copyright release, it is best to order prints from Daisyroots studio. We offer printing services online to make it as simple as possible for you or your family to order prints. The prints are made in a professional lab that only prints for professional photographers to ensure that the final product is a high quality print that has the correct color, and finish. I assign a specific “printer profile” that the photo lab uses to ensure that the colors look the same as they do on the screen of my color calibrated computer monitor. Our prints are done using the highest standards for printing and paper quality and are guaranteed to last longer. By ordering your prints through me, you will ensure the highest print quality level possible.
If you choose to print yourself please consult with me prior to placing your order. Be sure to instruct the photo lab NOT to use their inherent “auto correct” option! The quality of the photos will be significantly diminished otherwise! I assume no responsibility for any photographic prints that are not printed by me or through my online gallery.
Am I required to provide you with meals?
Yes. No one can work all day without eating, and it's hard to do your best work when your stomach is growling and your blood sugar low!
Each photographer should be provided one full guest meal for weddings lasting longer than 5 hours. If no meal is provided, we reserve the right to go off site for a meal for 45 minutes. We also require one 20 minute break at our own discresion and bathroom breaks when necessary.
